In-office Therapy

In-office Therapy

The traditional therapeutic setting, in person/face-to-face, is an excellent way to build rapport and engage in therapy in a space that is designated for that purpose. During in-office therapeutic sessions, clients can expect a calm and supportive environment designed to identify and support the client’s goals. In office sessions generally last about 1 hour. Appointments are available on Thursday evenings.

Safety recommendations for social distancing, including use of masks is expected during sessions as it pertains to COVID-19.

Tele-therapy

Tele-therapy

Tele-therapy is a great alternative to traditional brick and mortar therapeutic services. Whether you are maintaining social distance, struggle to find time in your schedule, or need to begin sessions virtually in order to seek care, tele-therapy is a great option!

Services are provided on a secure platform and will require review and completion of a Consent for Telemental Health Therapy Form prior to starting services. Teletherapy sessions generally last one hour. Please click below to learn more about how to schedule and appointment.

Therapeutic Book Study

Therapeutic Book Study

Therapeutic Book Studies are a great addition to traditional therapeutic services or can stand alone as a therapeutic experience. Book study participants will engage in an introductory session where participants can share why they choose to participate and what they hope to learn or accomplish through participation. Assigned chapters will be reviewed and discussed at each session, and participants will have the opportunity to process emotions, thoughts and understanding as they share in their reflections. Sessions will run for 4-7 weeks and will last approximately one hour each. As of now, all sessions will be held via video conference.

CHILDREN Ages 4 to Adolescent

Children can benefit from therapy too. Getting the right treatment is important, and can be intimidating. I offer short term therapeutic services for children and families seeking support with depression, anxiety, school related issues (learning disabilities, peer relationships, classroom behavior, school refusal, etc), anger management, and ADHD.

Services will start with a intake, where the care giver attends the first session. During this session time will be provided to discuss expectations, confidentiality, goals, concerns and questions. Following the initial session, parents will remain a part of the therapeutic process, with time provided during each session for a parent meeting, and when appropriate idea, sharing and problem solving focused on supporting progress outside of therapy.

Adolcesents

Preteens and teens may find themselves self advocating for services or getting “pushed into it” by care givers who are worried about them. Regardless of what brought one to the therapist office, on thing holds true…there must be a level of self determination.

I believe that trust and transparency is essential. My goal is to create a space that honors self determination of the client, supports healthy communication, and is inclusive of caregiver input.

Confidentiality will always be honored, and the parameters will be well explained to clients and care givers during the first session. As a result, communication strategies between the child and the parent can be incorporated into our work…leading to increased healthy communication within the family and a shared experience of trust.

Short and long term services are available to address anxiety, depression, mood disorders, school related issues, self-esteem, PMDD, trauma, stress, family issues, anger management, changes in mood, life transitions, and more. Services are client centered with an approach that reflects the need of the client…and of course, use of authenticity, humor and joy. Do not be surprised if you see a smile or hear a laugh…I promise, it happens!

Adults

Adulting is hard and we need therapy too! I specialize in anxiety, anger management, depression, ADHD, parenting, PMDD, life transitions, and psycho education.

There are many reasons that you may be seeking therapy at this moment. Whether it be anxiety that continues to assert its presence, a general feeling of listlessness, difficulty managing day to day activities, depression, the birth of a child, work issues, working through childhood issues, and so on; I am here for you. It is so important that you can find a therapist who you connect with and trust.

My style of therapy places emphasis on the reality of our lives, engaging in serious dialogue, and using humor as a tool to create a safe space and move forward.

With adults I lean on DBT, CBT, SFT, ACT and psychodynamic therapy as my primary therapeutic interventions. If we start to work together and we find that a different therapist may be a better match, I can work with you to find a better fit…after all, you showed up to get support, and I am committed to making sure you have access to just that.
